West Texas Wedding-Second Shooter’s Perspective

Smiles, giggles, and nerves… the minute we walked in the door, it was obvious that this wedding was going to be not only beautiful, but also more importantly joyful. This West Texas wedding was perfect!

One of the great things about being a photographer is that we can work together. I was so excited when I was asked to second-shoot this wedding with the amazing Mary Wiebe.

What exactly is a second-shooter? Glad you asked! A second shooter is an assistant to the lead photographer. We are there to get different angles of shots (which means you get a bigger variety of pictures), capture different moments of the day that a lead shooter might miss because they’re busy with the bride and groom, and just help the lead shooter in any of the minor details, like running to get extra batteries, etc. Having an experienced second shooter enhances the day.

Now back to the important stuff: Linda and Abe’s wedding.

I loved how Linda and Abe were surrounded by their favorite people! It was obvious that they had great family and amazing friends! I loved watching Linda with her bridesmaids. They were the best hype girls! From getting ready pictures to first look with bridesmaid, they were so fun!

The first look was so special! Abe’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time was so sweet! After first look was over, we took some bride and groom portraits. This is by far one of my favorite parts of a wedding! It’s a special time as they spend time together before becoming husband and wife!

The ceremony and reception were both beautiful! It is so amazing to see marriages based on a love for Christ and love for one another! I was blessed to be a part of this special wedding day!
