Family sessions are so special! I love being able to capture the memories of whatever season of life the family is in and the different personalities of the children. But what does a family session experience with me look like?
Before You Book
When hiring a photographer, it’s super important to make sure that you find a photographer that your family would work well with. I know I’m not the photographer for everyone, and that’s okay.
I definitely recommend checking out Instagram, Facebook, or the website before deciding to book. That will give you a good idea if you like the style of photography. It also helps you see if you feel like we would be a good fit for working together.

When You Book
When you first book, you will have a questionnaire that will help me tailor your session to your family. This gives you an opportunity to share any concerns you have.
After your contract is signed and your questionnaire is filled out, you will receive an email that includes my best tips and tricks for outfit choices, choosing location, and prepping the kiddoes.
At this point, if you haven’t chosen your location, it’s a good time to reach out to me, and we can discuss what type of look you are going for. If you already have a location picked out, great! If not, I am always happy to help you find a location that you love!
Once we have location picked out, then you can relax until the day of your session! You will get a couple of reminder emails from me, because I know life can be busy. Sometimes we forget important things, and I would hate for you to forget about your session, because I am already super excited for it!
The Family Session Experience
Now it’s time for the session! We will meet at the location you choose. You don’t need to worry about posing or anything like that. I’ve got you covered! We will get some great pictures of you smiling and looking at the camera. We’ll also alternate that with candid shots. I might play peekaboo with your little one to get genuine smiles! You might have a tickle fight! We will probably do at least one walking shot, because that is one of my favorites! Whatever we end up doing on your session, we’ll get a lot of pictures that capture your love for one another!
After the Session
Once your session is over, I am excited to get your pictures onto my computer, so I can start with editing! I will ooh and aw over them as I go through them all.
Within a couple of days, you will get a sneak peek of some images. Then I will start working on your blog post, where I include some of my favorite images, along with a short summary of what your session was like. This lets you see the session from my perspective, and I promise it’s all good!
Then two weeks from the session, you will get your final gallery in an online gallery where you can easily download and order your pictures
I highly recommend that you change your profile picture, phone lock screen, etc. And then don’t forget to order your pictures!
