Colorado Trip 2023

My family loves to travel! We enjoy trying new things, whether it’s experiences or coffee shops. So our 2023 Colorado trip was an amazing experience! (Also, most of these pictures are phone pictures, so that is why the quality is not the best.)

We had a couple of hiccups on this trip. Our hotel room… Let’s just say it was a disaster. It was too small, and the floor was sticky. Because it was late when we got there, we stayed there only one night before going to a different hotel for the remainder of the trip. We also had an interesting encounter with a man following us around for a little while. Good thing we walk fast!

Despite the rocky start to our vacation, it was amazing. We spent out first day walking in downtown Colorado Springs. We went to a neat Italian restaurant for lunch, then to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum, which was really neat. We relaxed at our hotel and swam in the evening.

The second day, we went white water rafting and ziplining. It was amazing! Megan and I had white water rafted in New Mexico last year, so we knew we had to do it with the family. It was so much fun! The rapids were a lot more intense here than in Taos. The ziplining was also great. This was my first time doing a big zipline course. Before this, I’d only done some rinky-dink ones, so this was a great experience. We had great guides for both things.

The next day, we went to Garden of the Gods in the morning. It was beautiful! The red rocks were so pretty. We stopped at neat cafe for lunch, and then went paddle boarding in the afternoon. Then in the evening, Mom and Dad and I went to a beautiful location for a photo shoot, because it was their anniversary! (If you missed it, the blog post is here. In case you’re wondering, I am already ready fro another photo session there… Just saying.)

Our last day in Colorado, we went to Helen Hunt Falls, which was really pretty, but not intense hiking if that is what you are looking for. After lunch, we drove up Pike’s Peak. We have been up there before, but it was many years ago, so it was neat to go up there again.

All in all, our Colorado trip was amazing! Can’t wait to go again!
